Standardl\u00e6ngde notaksler er lavet af bl\u00f8dt st\u00e5l og er perfekte til de fleste reparationsjob, specialfremstillet maskinbygning og mange andre anvendelser. Alle standard notaksler er 2-3\/4 tommer lange, og komplette notaksler f\u00e5s i enhver l\u00e6ngde, med yderligere materialer og arbejdsl\u00e6ngder tilg\u00e6ngelige efter anmodning og tilbud. Skivebremsemonteringsgr\u00e6nseflader, der er splinede<\/h2>\n

Der er to almindelige monteringsflader til skivebremser, splinede og center lock. Skivebremser med splinede flader er mere almindelige. De er normalt nemmere at installere. Center lock-systemet kr\u00e6ver et v\u00e6rkt\u00f8j til at fjerne l\u00e5seringen p\u00e5 skivebremsenavet. Seksboltsskiver er nemmere at installere og kr\u00e6ver kun seks bolte. Center lock-systemet bruges almindeligvis til performance-landevejscykler.
Post Mount-skivebremser kr\u00e6ver en post mount-adapter, mens flat mount-skivebremser ikke g\u00f8r. Post mount-adaptere er mere almindelige og bruges til mountainbikes i carbon, mens flat mount-interfaces er ved at blive normen p\u00e5 racer- og gravelcykler. Alle skivebremseadaptere er dog justerbare i forhold til rotorst\u00f8rrelse. Landevejscykler bruger normalt 160 mm rotorer, mens mountainbikes bruger rotorer, der er 180 mm eller 200 mm.
